Clitherall Township is the oldest township in Otter Tail County, Minnesota with a population of 497.

Clitherall Township was organized in 1868 and named after Clitherall Lake. The township has a total area of 35.7 square miles, of which 29.3 square miles is land and 6.3 square miles (17.78%) is water.
